Heinz-Jürgen Vogels

Heinz-Jürgen Vogels (* 1933 in Berlin ) is a German Catholic theologian and author .

Life

Bird was in 1959 in Cologne for ordained priests . From 1967 to 1979 he worked as a research assistant at the Albertus Magnus Institute in Bonn. In 1975 he received his doctorate in theology from the University of Mainz . In 1974 he concluded, according to his interpretation, a church note marriage. In 1979 he married civilly. In the same year he was suspended from the priesthood .

From 1983 to 1985 Vogel was head of the preparatory commission for the General Synod of Married Priests and their Wives in Ariccia near Rome. From 1986 to 2002 he was a member of the Executive Committee of the International Federation of Married Catholic Priests . From 1995 to 2006 he was a lecturer for the New Testament at the University of Koblenz .

In his writings he deals primarily with the celibacy of the Catholic Church.
