Heinz Bethmann

Heinz Bethmann (born April 6, 1936 ) is a German double bass player , conductor , composer , arranger and music publisher .

Life

In his youth, Heinz Bethmann gave concerts on the double bass under Paul Hindemith, among others . He worked at the Hanover State Opera when, at the age of 34, in 1970 he took over the management of the Hanoverian Orchestra Association , which at the time consisted of only 30 members . He moved the rehearsal space from the Künstlerhaus Hannover to the Kaiser-Wilhelm-Gymnasium Hannover , shaped and directed the ensemble for more than four decades. He worked with soloists such as Ulf Hoelscher , Gabriele Fontana and Camilla Nylund and varied the content of his concerts from classical to baroque to pop.

Heinz Bethmann gave his farewell concert as the conductor of the Hanover Orchestra Association on November 27, 2010 in the Great Hall of the Funkhaus Hanover .
