Heinz Gloth

Heinz Heinrich Karl Gloth (born March 6, 1939 in Steigerthal ; † August 16, 2015 in Freiberg ) was a German mining engineer and university professor .

Life

Heinz Gloth graduated from high school in Nordhausen in 1957 , and then trained as a fitter in the Nordhausen shaft building . From 1959 to 1964 he studied deep drilling technology and oil production at the Bergakademie Freiberg , after which he worked as a qualified engineer at the Nordhausen mine.

In 1970 he returned to the Bergakademie Freiberg. He worked for five years as a scientific assistant in the Geotechnical Engineering and Mining Section, and in 1975 he became senior scientific assistant. On December 17, 1976 he was awarded a Dr.-Ing. PhD. In 1980 he acquired the teaching qualification for the field of drilling, in 1984 he graduated from the Promotion B . From 1985 to 1991, Heinz Gloth headed the drilling technology and fluid mining science division. In 1986 he was appointed professor for drilling technology and fluid mining, and from 1992 to 2005 he was professor for deep drilling technology. Heinz Gloth died in Freiberg in 2015.
