Heinz Harbauer

Heinz Georg Harbauer (born July 1, 1943 in Asch , now the Czech Republic ) is a German trade unionist . He was a member of the Bavarian Senate .

Life

Harbauer attended elementary and vocational school in Selb (Upper Franconia) and passed the industrial clerk exam. He then worked in the textile and ceramics industry for three years. After two years in the armed forces , he studied at the academy for business administration. In 1966 he started working full-time with the German Employees' Union . There he was first regional youth leader in Bavaria and federal youth secretary in Hamburg , then managing director and district manager in Mannheim , later in Munich, then regional association manager and chairman of the DAG-Bildungswerk in Bavaria and after the reunification also regional association manager in Saxony . During this time he was also chairman of the supervisory board of the Plauen construction project . In addition, Harbauer was a labor judge from 1973, from 1978 state labor judge and from 1983 employee representative on the supervisory board of Bayerische Vereinsbank and HypoVereinsbank for two decades . From 1984 until its dissolution in 1999 he was a member of the Bavarian Senate. In 1987 he also became a member of the Board of Directors of the Bavarian State Office for New Media . Harbauer was one of the "founding fathers" of the United Service Union (ver.di) in Bavaria and was elected deputy regional director in 2001; he took over the education department in the regional management of Bavaria. He headed the education center of the United Service Union in Bavaria as chairman of the board until 2005.
