Heinz Havemeister

Heinz Havemeister (* 1958 in Eisenberg ) is a German curator , musician and author .

Life

Havemeister studied art history from 1982 to 1987 at the Humboldt University in Berlin . From 1988 to 1990 he was co-editor of the original graphic magazine Liane , in collaboration with Volker Handloik , Michael Thulin (d. I. Klaus Michael ) and the photographer Susanne Schleyer and participated in unofficial magazines. From 1990 to 1993 Havemeister worked for the Berlin publishing house Druckhaus Galrev .

Havemeister is active as a musician in various formations, in the Bolshevik Kurkapelle Schwarz-Rot (until 2012) and with Frank Bretschneider as guitarist in Heinz & Franz , a. a. In 1989 he worked with Heinz & Franz in Matthias Baader Holst's poetry performance between colorful and bestial in the Moritzbastei in Leipzig . He took part in various theater productions and wrote the libretto for the oratorio The Ending 20th Century (composition by Frank Keding) for choir and symphonic wind orchestra (UA 2008 Volksbühne Berlin).

With Ronald Galenza, Havemeister is one of the most important biographers and historiographers of the musical independent scene in the GDR and is an expert on rock and punk. The band published with Galenza in 1999 caused a sensation. We want to always be good ... punk, new wave, hip-hop and independent scene in the GDR via the u. a. the weekly newspaper Die Zeit wrote on October 7, 1999: "Anyone who reads the excellently illustrated work knows everything about everyone who danced the pogo in the last GDR decade and picked up the guitar regardless of the state." The daily newspaper Die Welt posted on October 16, 1999 found out that when reading the volume the reader learns “in addition to the subtle forms of state repression, almost in passing, a number of illuminating facts about the collapse of the cultural and social context in the declining GDR”.

Havemeister works and lives in Berlin .
