Heinz Heppelmann

Heinz Heppelmann (born May 17, 1927 in Arnsberg - Neheim ; † January 10, 2009 there ) was a German administrative officer.

Life

Heppelmann began his professional career in 1943 with the former town of Neheim-Hüsten . After the municipal reorganization, he worked for the city of Arnsberg until he retired in 1991, most recently as head of the main office . In this position, he strongly advocated the city's partnerships with the cities of Bexley (England), Deventer (Holland) and Alba Iulia (Romania). During and after the collapse of the communist regime, he organized numerous aid transports for Alba Iulia.

Heppelmann is particularly involved in the social and voluntary civic area. For many years he was the chairman of the local Heimatbund. From 1964 to 1983 Heppelmann Scheffe was the colonel of the Neheimer Schützenbruderschaft (representative of the colonel in absentia) and also in the management of the hunting club. In 1995 he was the initiator of the Alba Iulia Friends Association, which he headed until 2007 and which later appointed him honorary chairman. He was one of the co-founders of the Franz Stock Committee .

For his services, Heppelmann received the Ring of Honor of the City of Arnsberg in 1984 and the Federal Cross of Merit on Ribbon in 1991 . The Romanian twin town of Arnsberg, Alba Iulia, granted him honorary citizenship in 1994 .
