Heinz Mielke (publicist)
Heinz Mielke (* 6. April 1923 in Berlin , † 25 June 2013 ) was a German non-fiction author , who in the GDR the subject of space travel devoted.
Life
Mielke studied astronomy and physics at the Humboldt University in Berlin . From 1953 to 1956 he was a research assistant at the Archenhold observatory in Berlin-Treptow. In 1956, his first book, The Path to Space, was published and in the same year he began to work as a freelance academic journalist and specialist writer and expanded his activities to include radio, film and television. For many years Mielke was Vice President of the German Astronautical Society and Secretary of the Astronomy Section at the Presidium of the Society for the Dissemination of Scientific Knowledge .
Mielke has written 18 German-language books with a total print run of 400,000 copies. Some works were published in Hungarian and Russian. In particular, his lexicon space travel - space research was considered a standard work.
