Heinz Schilling from Cannstatt

Heinz Hermann Freiherr Schilling von Cannstatt-Kupferberg (born June 27, 1918 in Mainz ; † September 30, 2007 there ) was a German entrepreneur.

Life

Heinz Schilling von Cannstatt came from the Schilling von Cannstatt family ; He was a great-grandson of the founder of the champagne cellar, Christian Adalbert Kupferberg .

In the 1960s he joined the management of the Mainz sparkling wine cellar CA Kupferberg & Cie. a. He was initially the winery director and later a personally liable partner . In 1983 he retired. He was still a member of the supervisory board and later also deputy chairman of the supervisory board, also under the new owner, the Racke group of companies.

He was involved in numerous social activities in Mainz and was considered an “ambassador for sparkling wine and sparkling wine culture”. He was the holder of the Federal Cross of Merit on the ribbon of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany and " Officier de l'Ordre national du Mérite ".

He left behind his wife, five children and six grandchildren.
