Heinz Schnelle (born May 3, 1935 in Wilhelmshaven ) is a German trade unionist and former member of the Hamburg Parliament for the SPD .

Life

From 1941 to 1952, Heinz Schnelle attended school with a secondary school leaving certificate and then did an apprenticeship as a precision mechanic . From 1953 on, he worked as a volunteer for the IG Metall trade union alongside his job .

In 1956 and 1957, Schnelle received a scholarship from the German Federation of Trade Unions to study at the Dortmund Social Academy . The union then hired him as union secretary in Kiel. From 1958 to 1966 he continued to work for the trade union in Lübeck . In 1966 he was transferred to a sub-organization of the DGB, the trade union for public services, transport and traffic , in Hamburg. The members there elected him deputy chairman of the ÖTV district of Hamburg.

As an employee representative , he joined the supervisory boards of the Hamburger Hafen- und Lagerhaus-Aktiengesellschaft (HHLA) and the Hamburger Gaswerke .

Heinz Schnelle is married and has two sons.

In 1955, Schnelle joined the SPD. His political home is the SPD district of Hamburg-Harburg . He was a member of the board of directors from the local association to the SPD state organization. From 1970 to 1978 he was in the District Assembly elected Harburg.

From 1978 to 1991 he moved into the Hamburg Parliament as a member of parliament, where he mainly devoted his political work to the Committee on Port and Economy and the Committee on Home Affairs and the Public Service .

Outside of parliament, he became a member of the administrative committee at the Hamburg employment office.
