Heinz Voggenreiter

Heinz François Voggenreiter (born May 1, 1963 in Limburg an der Lahn ) is a German aerospace engineer and university lecturer .

Heinz Voggenreiter attended the Adalbert-Stifter-Gymnasium in Passau and passed the Abitur there in 1983. After completing his military service, he studied aerospace engineering from 1984 to 1990 at the Technical University of Munich . He then worked as a research assistant at the chair for materials in mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Munich and as a research engineer a. a. at DaimlerChrysler . In November 1996, Heinz Voggenreiter received his doctorate from the Technical University Bergakademie Freiberg as Dr.-Ing. From 1999 to 2005 he was a lecturer at the Technical University of Munich and from 2000 to 2004 a manager at EADS . Since 2005 Voggenreiter has been director of the Institute for Materials Research in Cologne , Building Methods and Construction Research in Stuttgart and the Center for Lightweight Production Technology in Augsburg. In May 2005 he was appointed full professor at the University of Stuttgart . On November 19, 2015 Voggenreiter was elected as the new chairman of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Association of German Engineers (VDI). Since December 2018 he has been a member of the Faculty of Applied Science at the University of British Columbia , in Vancouver and Kelowna, Canada.
