Heinz te Laake (born January 2, 1925 in Berlin ; † May 2, 2001 in Erbach im Rheingau ) was a German artist who worked in the fields of painting , kinetics and sculpture .

Heinz te Laake studied from 1945 to 1950 at the University of Fine Arts in Berlin with Karl Schmidt-Rottluff . He undertook long study trips through Europe and longer studies in the Louvre in Paris and in the National Museum in Athens. After his studies, he worked as a freelance artist in Düsseldorf and at Reinhartshausen Castle , where he had a studio apartment with his wife Marlis te Laake . He is buried with her in the Erbacher Friedhof.

In addition to panel painting, he has been working on kinetic objects, moving images and sculptures with clockworks since 1957. Te Laake also dealt with subjects of applied art , for example, in addition to clocks, he also designed collector's china and table decorations, not least artist labels for various Rheingau wineries, in addition to Reinhartshausen Castle, specifically for the Balthasar Ress winery .

Works by Heinz te Laake can be found in various private collections as well as museums, including the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam and the Musée des Arts Decoratifs in Lausanne. His paintings are currently being documented and are being prepared for a catalog raisonné by KunstKontor, Wiesbaden.
