The Heliport de Vielha (also known as Elipòrt Val d'Aran ) is a heliport in the municipality of Vielha e Mijaran in the province of Lleida in northeastern Spain .

The site was officially put into operation in 2001. It was built by the Generalitat de Catalunya and is the base of the rescue helicopters of TAF Helicòpters SL and fire-fighting helicopters of the Bomberos de la Generalidat de Cataluña in the valley area of Baqueira-Beret , one of the largest winter sports areas of the Pyrenees in the Comarca Val d'Aran .

The airfield area with around 14,500 m² of floor space includes a concreted helipad measuring 35 × 50 meters. The runway is connected by a taxiway to the approximately 250 m² hangar , the petrol station with JET-A1 and the team accommodation building.

Navigation facilities

The helipad is equipped with a helicopter approach path indicator , the system is used for night approaches. The tower frequency is 129.825 MHz.

Trivia

By decree Nº 147/2003 of June 10, 2003, the government of Catalonia transferred the Elipòrt de Vielha to the jurisdiction of the Conselh Generau d'Aran .
