Helmut Kuhny

Helmut Kuhny (born June 26, 1918 in Eichen , Lörrach district) is a former German functionary of the GDR block party LDPD . He was chairman of the LDPD district council in Magdeburg .

Life

Kuhny completed an apprenticeship with the Reichsbahn . He worked as a Reichsbahn assistant. He did military service in World War II .

After the war ended in 1945 he was employed by the Weferlingen city ​​administration . In 1949 he joined the LDPD and was local secretary of the LDPD until 1952. From 1950 to 1952 he was chairman of the local committee of the National Front in Weferlingen and a member of the Haldensleben district council . In 1952 he became secretary of the county Board blocks of the Liberal Democratic Party. From 1954 he was a member of the Magdeburg District Assembly and from 1956 to 1958 Secretary of the Magdeburg District Executive of the LDPD. From 1958 to 1960 he was secretary, then from 1960 to July 8, 1983 chairman of the Magdeburg district council of the LDPD.

From 1960 to 1987 Kuhny was also a member of the central executive committee of the LDPD. He was also deputy chairman of the Society for German-Soviet Friendship in the Magdeburg district.
