Helmut Läpple

Helmut Läpple (born April 4, 1916 , † September 23, 2005 in Weinsberg ) was a German entrepreneur .

Life

Läpple was co-owner of his father August Läpple formed company Läpple based in Heilbronn , which he entered at the age of 18 years. From 1940 he was a Läpple partner and was in charge of the business, while his brother Erich took over the technical management. During the decades of his activity at the top of the board, the company's headquarters were relocated from Weinsberg to Heilbronn in 1950, several foreign Läpple plants were founded, the Fibro company, which was threatened with bankruptcy, was taken over with plants in Weinsberg and Haßmersheim in 1974, and Maxhütte was taken over in Teublitz in 1990. Only in 2004 did he move to the Läpple supervisory board.

In his hometown of Weinsberg, Läpple and his wife Brigitte sponsored many associations and institutions in the cultural, sporting and social fields. On September 27, 2005, four days after his death, he was buried in the Weinsberg cemetery.

Awards

Helmut Läpple received numerous awards, including the Federal Cross of Merit 1st Class in 1990 and the Baden-Württemberg Medal of Merit in 2001 , as well as the Staufer Medal and the Bavarian Order of Merit . At the municipal level he became an honorary citizen of the city of Weinsberg in 1992, an honorary citizen of the city of Carlow in Ireland in 1998 and an honorary citizen of the city of Maxhütte-Haidhof in 2003 . He also received the Golden Mint of the City of Heilbronn (1986), the Golden Mint of the City of Weinsberg and the Gold Medal (citizen's medal in gold) of the City of Teublitz .
