The Fibro GmbH (proper spelling: FIBRO ) based in Vineyard ( district Heilbronn , Germany is) a subsidiary of Läpple AG in Heilbronn . Fibro is one of the market leaders for standard parts , rotary tables and automation .

history

The company was founded in 1958 by Klara Fischer and Werner Brodbeck in Weinsberg under the name Fischer-Brodbeck GmbH. In the beginning, simple precision round parts (tool making, standard parts) were manufactured. A tool shop was set up very quickly. As early as 1962, another part of the company was built in Haßmersheim on the site of the former Reichsschwefelwerk . With the development of the Fibrotakt rotary indexing table with face gearing in 1962, the rotary table division was founded. Production sites in Zaberfeld and Schwäbisch Gmünd were established. Fibro has also been producing components and systems for automation and robotics since 1974 .

After economic problems, Fischer-Brodbeck GmbH was taken over on December 1, 1974 by what was then August Läpple GmbH & Co. KG from Heilbronn. Since then the company has only operated under the name Fibro GmbH. As a result of the takeover, the Zaberfeld and Schwäbisch Gmünd sites were closed, and the production program was streamlined to include the core areas of standard parts, rotary tables and automation. The hydraulic presses , sheet metal processing and screen printing machines product areas were sold.

The Bad Friedrichshall-based company GSA, which was taken over in 2004, was integrated into Fibro and in 2006 merged with the automation and robotics division of Fibro GmbH to form Fibro-GSA Automation GmbH (Haßmersheim). On January 1, 2011, Fibro-GSA Automation GmbH was merged with Läpple Anlagenbau GmbH to form Fibro Läpple Technologie GmbH (FLT), based in Haßmersheim. Fibro Läpple Technologie employs 260 people and expects sales of 55 million euros in 2012.

Fibro GmbH has over 70 agencies and service bases worldwide, including branches in France, Poland, the USA, India, Singapore, Korea and China.

At the end of 2011, the company was recognized by PricewaterhouseCoopers , Carl Hanser Verlag and Hannover Messe as Best Professional Supplier 2011 in the components and drawing parts category.
