Helmut Sichter

Helmut Sichter (born May 29, 1915 in Berlin ; † June 21, 1998 there ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Helmut Sichter attended high school and did an apprenticeship as a precision mechanic . He joined the German Metal Workers 'Association and from 1928 also the Socialist Workers' Youth (SAJ). He attended the engineering schools Beuth and Gauß in Berlin and passed an exam in the field of low-voltage technology and telecommunications . Sifter first had to join the Wehrmacht and then into the Second World War , where he served in the Air Force . At the end of the war he was taken prisoner of war .

Sifter returned to Berlin and joined the SPD in 1946, where he was politically active in Berlin-Frohnau and also in the Reinickendorf district . He was also active in the German Employees' Union (DAG). He first worked as an administrative employee and from 1951 as managing director of the first " Berliner Festwochen ". Since Willy Hoheisel was a district councilor in Reinickendorf, Sichter moved up to the Berlin House of Representatives in March 1955 .
