Helmut Vogt (historian)

Helmut Vogt (* 1951 ) is a German teacher and historian with a focus on economic and regional history .

Life

Vogt was promoted to Dr. phil. PhD . He is the author of numerous books, essays, newspaper and internet articles on the regional history of the Rhine - partly on behalf of the city of Bonn -, on social , economic and corporate history as well as the early history of the Federal Republic of Germany and its institutions. A special focus is on the “archeology” of the Federal Republic in the young federal capital Bonn. In 1999 , with the support and encouragement of the historian Rudolf Morsey , he began researching the Allied High Commission (1949–1955) as an institution and its work at the level of the state as a whole - a subject that had hardly been dealt with before.

Vogt recently taught at the Kaiserin-Theophanu-Schule , a grammar school in Cologne-Kalk . He has been living in the Beuel district of Bonn for a long time .
