Norbert Schloßmacher

Norbert Schloßmacher (* 1956 in Düsseldorf ) is a German historian and archivist . Since 2003 he has headed the Bonn City Archives.

Life

Schloßmacher grew up in the Heerdt district of Düsseldorf . He studied at the University of Dusseldorf history and received his doctorate there with Christoph Weber , whose first graduate student he was. The dissertation on his hometown in the Bismarckian era was awarded the DRUPA Prize. Since the late 1980s he has been a research assistant at the Bonn City Archives, of which he became deputy director in 1990. When Manfred van Rey retired at the beginning of 2003, he initially succeeded him as head of the city archives, and in March 2003 he finally received the certificate of appointment. He is also a lecturer at the Institute for History of the University of Bonn , member of the board of the Bonn Homeland and History Association and assessor in the Association for Homeland Care and Local History Bad Godesberg (since 2000).

Schloßmacher has three children and lives in the Bad Godesberg district of Bonn .
