Helmut Walter Rüeck (born March 21, 1962 in Crailsheim -Altenmünster) is a German CDU politician . From 2001 to 2016 he was a member of the Baden-Württemberg state parliament ( constituency 22 Schwäbisch Hall) .

• Member of the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg from April 12, 2001 to April 30, 2016
• Winning the direct mandate in the 2001, 2006 and 2011 state elections. There he was a member of the Social Committee and the Committee for Rural Areas.
• 2006–2016 member of the Presidium of the State Parliament
• 2006–2016 member of the executive board of the CDU parliamentary group
• 2006–2011 treasurer and 2011–2016 deputy chairman of the CDU parliamentary group
• Member of the Crailsheim City Council since 1999, 2004, 2009 and 2014. Re-election. Since 2009, he has also been the honorary First Deputy Mayor of the major district town of Crailsheim. He rejected a candidacy for the election of the mayor in 2017.
• Member of the district council of the Schwäbisch Hall district 2004–2009 and 2014–2017
• 2001-2013 chairman of the CDU district association Schwäbisch Hall
• 2009–2011 chairman of the CDU city association Crailsheim

• Chairman of the Enquete Commission of the State Parliament of Baden-Württemberg

Due to the heavy losses suffered by the CDU in the state elections in Baden-Württemberg in 2016 , he lost the direct mandate to Jutta Niemann from the Greens and failed to get back into the state parliament. Since then, Rüeck has been working as an independent management consultant based in Crailsheim and volunteering for social projects for young unemployed people. In September 2018, he announced that he would no longer apply for a candidacy for the state parliament in 2021 and that he would also resign from the Crailsheim municipal council at the end of the 2019 election period.
