Helmut Zedelmaier (politician)

Helmut Matthias Zedelmaier (born July 11, 1927 in Munich ) is a German dentist, from 1977 to 1997 he was a member of the Bavarian Senate .

Zedelmaier attended elementary school in Schongau and graduated from secondary school in Weilheim . After a short period of military service, he studied dentistry at the University of Munich and then worked as an assistant doctor at the Munich University Clinic , in Bonn and Chicago . From 1956 to 1993 he had his own dental practice in Schongau. In 1961 he became regional chairman of the Free Association of German Dentists , from 1973 to 1978 he was its national chairman. He was also a board member of the Bavarian Association of Statutory Health Insurance Dentists (KZVB), Chairman of the Federal Association of Statutory Health Insurance Dentists (KZBV), representative of German dentists in the World Dental Federation ( FDI World Dental Federation ) and Vice President of the Council of European Dentists (CED), European Regional Organization ( ERO)).

From 1972 to 1984 Zedelmaier was politically active as a member of both the city council and the district council in Schongau, and from 1977 to 1997 he was a member of the Bavarian Senate .
