Helmut Zeraschi

Helmut Zeraschi (born October 25, 1911 in Särichen ; † July 24, 1979 in Leipzig ) was a German musicologist and music publishing director. He was director of the musical instrument museum at the Karl Marx University in Leipzig .

Life

Zeraschi worked until 1952 as a commercial employee or as an administrative employee in various companies and in the state government of Saxony-Anhalt . In 1952 he became publishing director at the Breitkopf & Härtel music publisher .

From 1954 to 1958 he studied musicology and art history in Halle and Leipzig . Then Zeraschi took up a position as a research assistant at the Karl Marx University (KMU) Leipzig. In 1961 he was promoted to Dr. phil. (Dissertation: barrel organ , Serinette and barrel organ ) PhD. He then worked as a publishing director at the Deutsches Verlag für Musik , Breitkopf & Härtel and Friedrich Hofmeister .

In 1974 he took over the management of the musical instrument museum at KMU Leipzig, which he held until 1976.
