Helmuth Schievelkamp
Helmuth Schievelkamp (born April 15, 1849 in Berlin , † after 1932) was a German sculptor .
Life
Helmuth Schievelkamp studied from 1867 to 1869 at the Prussian Academy of Arts in Berlin, among others with the sculptor Karl Heinrich Möller, and worked as a freelancer in the Gladenbeck fine art foundry . In the course of his life he created a number of smaller sculptures and relief pictures that are still occasionally offered in auctions today. In addition, three large monuments of him are known.
In 1903 the Bismarck fountain, which came from Schievelkamp, was inaugurated on Flensburg's most important, central square, the Südermarkt . Schievelkamp's Bismarck Fountain no longer exists today. The National Socialist Lord Mayor Ernst Kracht had the monument that was erected during the imperial era removed for ideological reasons. The reconstruction is discussed again and again.
An Kaiser Friedrich monument in the city of Wilmersdorf , which was incorporated into Berlin in 1920, is undated , which was probably created by him either before 1900 or probably shortly thereafter and possibly Friedrich III. depicted. In 1913, the Freiherr vom Stein monument was unveiled in Nebelin , the bronze plate of which shows the relief of the profile of Heinrich Friedrich Karl vom und zum Stein , which was created by Schievelkamp.
When and where Helmuth Schievelkamp died is unclear. It can be found in the Berlin address books up to 1933.
