Karl Heinrich Möller
Karl Heinrich Möller (born December 22, 1802 in Berlin ; † April 21, 1882 there ) was a German sculptor .
Life
Born on December 22nd, 1802 in Berlin, Karl Heinrich Möller studied at the Berlin Academy under August Kiss . From 1824 at the latest until 1840 he worked first as a student, then as an assistant in Christian Daniel Rauch's studio . Here he was u. a. also used for the restoration of antiquities in the park of Sanssouci. On March 20, 1841, he was named an academic artist. After a stay in Paris in 1855, he created the allegories of natural history and mathematics for Friedrich August Stüler's University in Königsberg , which he repeated for the Academy in Budapest , which was also built by Stüler . From 1861 he taught at the Berlin Academy and in 1869 became a member of the academy. In 1872 he traveled to Italy and did not resume teaching until 1875.
He died in Berlin on April 21, 1882.
Works
Many of his works were offered as zinc casts by the Berlin companies Devaranne and Moritz Geiss and were also successfully presented at the Paris World Exhibition in 1855 .
