Hendrik Clemens Schulte (born August 21, 1958 in Wattenscheid ) is a German civil engineer and political official . Since June 30, 2017 he has been State Secretary in the Ministry of Transport of North Rhine-Westphalia .

Life

education and profession

Schulte grew up in Wattenscheid. After obtaining the general university entrance qualification in June 1977 and the basic military service (October 1977 - September 1978) Schulte began studying civil engineering at the RWTH Aachen , which he completed in April 1984 with a diploma. He subsequently took a three-month research fellowship to the University of Minnesota . After his return, in July 1984 he became a research assistant at the Institute for Hydraulic Engineering and Water Management at RWTH Aachen University. PhD in February 1989 he was there and subsequently worked as a research assistant until April 1989.

From May 1989 to June 2017 Schulte worked for various companies in the private sector in the field of building construction and civil engineering . During this time he was u. a. responsible for major infrastructure projects for Hochtief and Porr . Between November 2007 and September 2009 he acquired the TÜV certification as an expert for damage and defects in buildings and building repairs .

Political activity

On June 30, 2017, Hendrik Schulte was appointed State Secretary in the Ministry of Transport of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia as part of the formation of the Laschet Cabinet by Minister Hendrik Wüst .

Private

Schulte is married and has two children. Since 1979 he has been a member of the Catholic student association KDStV Franconia Aachen .
