Hendrikus Bernardus Maria "Hennie" Hollink (born October 1, 1931 in Glanerbrug ; † January 31, 2018 ) was a Dutch football player and coach.
Player career
Hollink started his career at Avanti Wilskracht . During the 1950s and 1960s he moved to Helmondia '55 , RKSV Bekkerveld and played for Rapid JC Kerkrade from 1957 to 1959 . He was particularly successful in the 1950s and was the top scorer in the Netherlands several times.
Coaching career
After his active football career, Hollink devoted himself to coaching. The first club under his leadership was FC Eindhoven . However, this engagement ended after just one year. In the late 1960s and early 1970s, Hollink was in charge of the HVC . For the season 1972/73, the football teacher was committed by his old club Roda Kerkrade, formerly Rapid JC. Immediately he made it to the 1st Dutch league . After another year, the two parties parted ways and the former attacker went abroad, where he signed a contract with the French club Racing Strasbourg . After relegation from the top French league, Hollink was released in 1976. So he moved back to the Netherlands, where Heracles Almelo secured the services of the coach. Hollink was with Almelo, then in the Eerste Divisie , for three years. His best placement was tenth in the 1977/78 season. At the end of the first half of the 1979/80 season he took over the reins at FC Twente Enschede . After a bad start to the season, he succeeded Antoine Kohn . Twice sixth place in the Eredivisie were the result. But the following season was rather bad and in November they split up. In the same year he was again employed in France. In 1982 and 1983 he reached the semi-finals for the Coupe de France twice with FC Tours . In the league, on the other hand, things didn't go so well. After the team relegated to the second division in 1983, Hollink ended his coaching career.
In the meantime he was again active as an interim trainer for RBC Roosendaal .
