Henning Conradinus

Henning Conradinus (* 1538 in Hamburg ; † October 8, 1590 ibid) was a German teacher and poet.

Life

Henning Conradinus studied at the Leucorea in Wittenberg and completed his studies with a master's degree. On his return to Hamburg in 1560, he narrowly escaped an assassination attempt and survived a life-threatening accident. In 1566 he became principal of the school in Stade . In 1570 he accepted a position as court master of the Rantzau family in Schwabstedt . In 1575 Conradinus became vice principal of the Johanneum School of Scholars in Hamburg and at the same time vicar at the Mariendom in Hamburg. For health reasons, he left school in 1584. He wrote numerous poems in Latin and was therefore emperorRudolph II raised to Poeta laureatus . Together with Heinrich Rantzau , he was co-author of numerous Ranzovia .

After the death of Conradinus, Theodor Glazer arranged for the publication of his poems on behalf of and at the expense of the Hamburg mayor Eberhard Twestreng .
