Henning Hoffsten (born May 28, 1942 in Neunkirchen (Saar) , † April 7, 2010 in Munich ) was a German high school teacher and actor. His role as Maier Kurt in the Heinz Becker family series made him known.

Life

Henning Hoffsten grew up in Saarland. After completing basic military service in the German Navy , he studied German and history at the Saarland University and at the Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen . Since 1965 he was a member of the Corps Frankonia-Prag zu Saarbrücken . However, in the 1968 movement he increasingly came to a socially critical attitude that accompanied him throughout his life. He taught at various grammar schools in Bavaria , most recently as a senior teacher for German, history and ethics at the municipal vocational school in Munich. Henning Hoffsten died after a serious illness at the age of 68.

In Munich, Henning Hoffsten found his way into professional theater in addition to his teaching activities . After working in various independent groups, he was a member of the ensemble at the Blaue Maus theater until his death . In addition to other roles, he regularly played in Saarland pieces that the management team Sigi Siegert and Claus Siegert, both also from Saarland, produced together. This was followed by small roles in various film and television productions, and in 1999 Tach, Mr. Dokter! - The Heinz Becker film , by and with the Saarland cabaret artist Gerd Dudenhöffer , in which Hoffsten played the neighbor Maier Kurt . He also played this role from 2001 to 2003 in the sixth and seventh seasons of the Heinz Becker family television series . Even after his illness, Henning Hoffsten appeared as a reciter and narrator of “fairy tales from all over the world”.
