Henning Kaul

Henning Kaul (born February 1, 1940 in Berlin ) is a Bavarian politician ( CSU ). From 1986 to 2008 he was a member of the Landtag of the Free State of Bavaria .

Life

After completing secondary school, Kaul did an apprenticeship as a high-voltage electrician and then completed a degree in electrical engineering . Kaul is a member of both the VDE and the VDI . Until 1986 he was employed as a manager in the chemical industry . After moving into the Bavarian state parliament, he withdrew from it in order to concentrate on his mandate.

Kaul was district chairman of the Junge Union in the Miltenberg district from 1971 to 1974 and then in the same district until 1989 district chairman of the CSU. From 1976 to 1990 he was a member of the district council of Miltenberg and the regional planning association. From 1982 to 1986 he was also a member of the district assembly of Lower Franconia and since 1974 a member of the CSU district committee. From 1996 to 2014 Kaul was a member of the district council of the Aschaffenburg district .

In 1986 he was elected to the Bavarian state parliament via the state list . Since 1990, the year in which he was able to win a direct mandate for the first time , he has been chairman of the state parliament's committee for regional development and environmental issues; in 2003 the committee was renamed the committee for the environment and consumer protection. Kaul held the chair until the end of his mandate. In addition, he was environmental, consumer protection and development policy spokesman and spokesman for questions of the Evangelical Church of the CSU parliamentary group. During his time in parliament he was also a member of the energy advisory board of the State Ministry for Economic Affairs and Transport and a member of the advisory board of the Bavarian Nature Conservation Fund. For the state elections in Bavaria in 2008 he was no longer up for election and thus he resigned from the state parliament. Kaul had entered parliament directly in every state election since 1990.

Awards

For his services, Kaul was awarded the Bavarian Order of Merit and the Constitutional Medal in silver in 1994 and gold in 2004. 1998 the medal of merit of the Federal Association of German Hydropower Plants; 2008 the "Golden Seal" of the Chamber of Crafts of Lower Franconia; 2009 the city plaque in gold of the city of Alzenau; 2009 Bavarian State Medal for Services to the Environment ; 2014 medal and badge of honor from the district of Aschaffenburg.
