Henning Laux

Henning Laux (* 1979 in Quiigart ) is a German sociologist and university professor .

Life

Laux studied political science , philosophy and business administration at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz and social sciences at the University of Glasgow . From 2006 he worked as a research assistant at Hartmut Rosa's chair for general and theoretical sociology at the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena . There he was in 2012 with the Rosa and Uwe Schimank supervised dissertation sociology in the age of composition: coordination of a relational dynamic network theory to Dr. phil. PhD .

From 2012, Laux was a research associate at Schimank in the sociological theory department at the University of Bremen . During his time in Bremen, he was also head of the DFG research project Desynchronized Society? Political challenges at the interfaces of the social . He was employed in Bremen until 2017. After Visiting Professor at the Universities of Bremen, Hamburg and Chemnitz when he took to April 1, 2018 a call to the Chair of General Sociology with a focus on sociological theories of the Technical University of Chemnitz on. There he received the teaching award of the Faculty of Human and Social Sciences in 2017.

Since January 2017, Laux has also been the spokesman for the “Sociological Theory” section of the German Society for Sociology .
