Henning Schröer
Henning Schröer (born May 2, 1931 in Berlin ; † February 7, 2002 in Bonn ) was a German Protestant theologian .
Life
Henning Schröer studied from 1952 to 1957 in Berlin ( church university ), Göttingen and Heidelberg . In 1957 he did his doctorate in Heidelberg with Edmund Schlink with a systematic-theological thesis on the paradox as a form of thought as a theological problem . From 1957 to 1959 the vicariate in the German Lutheran Congregation in Copenhagen followed , in 1959 the ordination in Kiel . From 1959 to 1960 Schröer was a lecturer at the Predigerseminar in Preetz, 1960 to 1966 main pastor of the German Ev. St. Petri parish in Copenhagen , 1967 to 1968 religion teacher at grammar schools in Eberbach and Heidelberg. In 1968 he qualified as a professor for practical theology in Heidelberg with a thesis on the nature and method of preaching meditation . From 1968 to 1971 he was a university lecturer for practical theology in Heidelberg. From 1971 until his retirement in 1996 he was professor for practical theology at the Evangelical Theological Faculty of the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn .
He was particularly interested in hermeneutics and aesthetics as well as their significance for theology. From 1977 to 1996 he was director of the Bonn Institute for Hermeneutics, which, in memory of this, awards the "Henning Schröer Prize for Understandable Theology" together with the CMZ Verlag Rheinbach and the VELKD Hanover. The previous winners are Ulrike Bail, Alexander Dietz and Michaela Albrecht-Zenk, geb. Albrecht.
His students include Günter Ruddat , Harald Schroeter-Wittke and Gotthard Fermor, the head of the Pedagogical-Theological Institute in Bonn.
