Henning Sprogøe Petersen (born October 21, 1953 in Denmark ) is a Danish film and theater actor as well as a theater director and presenter . He is the son of the well-known Danish actor Ove Sprogøe and his wife Eva Sprogøe .

Career

After graduating from school, he first studied history at the University of Copenhagen . After working at the Bristol Music Center's Teater in Copenhagen , he began working for Nordisk Film in 1978. As an assistant to Erik Balling, he took part in the filming of various films for the Olsen Gang , where his father Ove Sprogøe played the leading role of Egon Olsen. He gained further experience as a production assistant at Nordisk Film, where he worked on various television series, such as Matador . In 1980 he was admitted to the Statens Teaterskole (State Theater College). His first major role was that of Nicolai in the play Nøddebo Rectory at the Danish Volkstheater ( Folketeatret ). There he played other important roles from 1984 to 1991, before he became the constituent director of the Folketeatret from 2002 to 2003. He also played at various revue theaters in Jutland, Funen, Zealand and Bornholm, as well as taught at the Statens Teaterskole and at the Acting School in Aarhus . In 1994 he received the Ole Haslund Prize for the role of Figaro in the play Le nozze di Figaro at Grønnegårds Theater . He was also the host and program announcer of a film magazine ( Filmmagasinet ) on TV 2 and worked for the Danish children's program from 1989 to 1991. As a film actor, he worked in various Danish films , including Copenhagen - in the middle of the night ( Midt om natten ), The (really) very last trick of the Olsen Gang and the Olsen Gang Junior . Sprogøe has been a member of the jury for the award of the Ove Sprogøe Prize , a Danish culture and film prize named after his father , which is awarded to a particularly deserving person from the fields of film, theater and television. Furthermore, he has been playing in his spare time, since 1976, in a band he founded, Return to Sender , as a singer and drummer .

Sprogøe lives in the Vanløse district of Copenhagen and is married to actress Anne Fletting , with whom he has two sons, Mathias Sprogøe Fletting and Johannes Sprogøe Fletting .
