Career

Henrik Ipsen began his career with his two youth clubs Gundersted IF and Aars IK. For the 1996/97 season he moved to Silkeborg IF . He made his competitive debut on July 31, 1996 in the 0-1 defeat in the semi-finals of the 1996 UEFA Intertoto Cup against the Russian club Ural Oblast Sverdlovsk . In both first round matches against Spartak Moscow he was finally used in the 1996/97 UEFA Cup , both of which were lost and Silkeborg was eliminated. Until 2001 he remained in the club behind Peter Kjær only substitute goalkeeper and came after 10 league games in his first season, four appearances in the 1998/99 season, two games in 1999/2000 and ten games in 2001/02 seldom beyond the status of reserve player. After Kjær's departure, Ipsen was the goalkeeper and his contract was extended to 2006 by two years.

After Ipsen played ten league games during the 2006/2007 season and lost his regular place, he switched to second division Sønderjysk Elitesport during the winter break , where he did not play a league game until 2008 behind regular goalkeeper David Ousted . After being promoted in 2008, he played 18 league games during the 2007/09 superleague season, helping to keep up.

For the 2010/11 season he moved as a substitute goalkeeper for Kristian Fæste and at the same time goalkeeping coach for the second division club Vejle BK . He came to a league game and failed at the end of the season with nine points behind HB Køge as third-placed in promotion to the Super League .

Since January 1, 2012, Ipsen has been working as a goalkeeping coach at the first division club FC Midtjylland .
