Henry Kolarz
Henry Kolarz , also Heinrich Rademacher (born February 4, 1927 in Berlin ; † October 12, 2001 in Hamburg ) was a German journalist , writer and screenwriter .
Life
Henry Kolarz's parents were of Russian descent. In 1947 he began his professional career as a journalist for various magazines, including Stern , where he specialized in crime topics. He worked some of his reports into screenplays for television, for example in 1972 Der Illegale with Götz George in the title role or in 1974 The Check justifies the means through Clifford Irving , the forger of the Howard Hughes autobiography. Kolarz already had his greatest success in the mid-1960s, when he wrote the script for the legendary three-part film Die Gentlemen bitten zum till about the postal train robbery of August 8, 1963, based on his multi-part Stern report Das Superding from 1964 . In the early 1970s, he also wrote the script for the two- parter Hooper's Last Hunt , which was a sequel to the Gentlemen . After the NDR was forced to have the script changed significantly for legal reasons, Kolarz withdrew his name from the production.
Several reports had already appeared in book form when Kolarz wrote his first fiction novel, Kalahari, in 1977 , which was translated into 17 languages and was followed by other thrillers with elements of adventure.
Henry Kolarz last lived in Aumühle near Hamburg.
