The third album by the Austrian dark metal band Dornenreich is Her von Welken Karten .

background

Her von Welken Nachts is the band's first concept album , whereby the contextual connection between the songs is not very clearly recognizable, but rather is created by the transitional texts in the booklet that were printed before the individual song texts.

The focus of the entire action is the self-knowledge of a man and his associated Incarnation . It begins with the “human being”, who is the protagonist, waking up at night in a dream-like forest scenario - the “withered night” - and facing the problem of self-awareness.

In the end, the protagonist succeeds in self-knowledge, whereby narcissistic traits can be recognized, which, however, are better than sinking into loneliness and depression. Nature is personified more often and death appears in the end as the last audience when time loses interest in the being.

Presentation

The cover is - comparable to the previous releases - sparse again, the artwork only shows a light, human figure against a dark background. Above it is the album name. The band name is only given on the back with the track list. The printing on the CD does not show any motif, only the sentence “Goosebumps instead of single file” printed in large black letters on a completely white background.

Compared to the two previous albums Not to die and Bitter is it to serve death , Jochen Stock's voice is much more in the foreground than before.
