Gergő Iváncsik [ ˈɡɛrɡøː ˈivaːnʧik ] (born November 30, 1981 in Győr , Hungary ) is a former Hungarian handball player .

Iváncsik, who played for the top Hungarian club Telekom Veszprém (back number 4) and played for the Hungarian men's national handball team (back number 8), was mostly used on the left wing .

Gergő Iváncsik began playing handball at HC Steyr Auto Graz in Graz in 1994 , where he and his brother Tamás Iváncsik took second place in the Austrian U12 Championship in 1994 and was voted the best player of the tournament. From 1995 he played in his hometown for Győri ETO KC . His father Mihály Iváncsik was a Hungarian national player; Gergő followed in his footsteps. At Győri he made his debut in 1998 in the first men's team. Iváncsik quickly drew attention to himself and switched to the Hungarian series champion Fotex Veszprém in 2000 . With the men from Balaton he won the Hungarian championship in 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017 as well as in 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2007, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017 the Hungarian Cup. In 2002 he was in the final of the EHF Champions League with Veszprém , but failed because of the SC Magdeburg Gladiators . In 2008 he won the European Cup Winners' Cup with Veszprém . He ended his career after the 2016/17 season.

Gergő Iváncsik played 265 international matches for the Hungarian men's national handball team . With Hungary he was sixth at the men's handball world championship in 2003 , ninth at the 2004 European handball championship and fourth at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. He also took part in the 2007 men's handball world championship in Germany, but only finished ninth with his team. In the summer of 2012 he again took part in the Olympic Games in London . At the men's handball world championship in Spain in 2013 , he finished 8th with Hungary.

Gergő's brother Tamás Iváncsik played for HC Minaur Baia Mare and for the national team. Gergő also has another brother, Ádám Iváncsik , who also plays handball. He is in the service of league rivals Tatabánya KC .
