Tamás Iváncsik [ ˈtɒmaːʃ ˈivaːnʧik ] (born April 3, 1983 in Győr , Hungary ) is a former Hungarian handball player . He is six feet tall.

Iváncsik, who last played for the Norwegian first division club Elverum Håndball and ran for the Hungarian men's national handball team (shirt number 9), was mostly used on the right wing .

Career

Like his older brother Gergő Iváncsik , Tamás Iváncsik also started playing handball in Graz at HC Steyr Auto Graz, where they finished 2nd in the 1994 Austrian U12 Championship. Since 1995 he played in his hometown for Győri ETO KC. There he made his debut in 1999 in the first men's team. While his brother went to serial champion Fotex Veszprém in 2000 , Tamás initially stayed in his hometown and reached the play-offs of the Hungarian championship with his team in 2003, whereupon he moved to league rivals Tatabánya Carbonex KC. There he also reached the play-offs twice in a row and moved on to the top club Dunaferr SE in 2006 . In 2007 he went to serial master MKB Veszprém , where his brother is already playing. In 2008 he won the European Cup Winners' Cup with Veszprém . In the 2014/15 season he was on loan for Balatonfüredi KSE. He then moved to the Romanian club HC Minaur Baia Mare. After HC Minaur Baia Mare got into financial difficulties, he joined the Norwegian first division club Elverum Håndball in January 2016 . With Elverum he won the Norwegian championship in 2016. He ended his career in the summer of 2017.

Tamás Iváncsik played 113 international matches for the Hungarian men's national handball team . He also took part in the men's handball world championship in Germany in 2007 and finished 9th with his team.
