Herbert Fussy

Herbert Fussy (born March 19, 1950 in Graz ) is an Austrian Germanist , journalist and long - time editor -in- chief of the Austrian dictionary .

Career

After graduating from high school in Graz in 1968 , Fussy studied German literature, art history, folklore, philosophy and classical linguistics at the University of Graz . In 1974 he completed his studies with a doctorate to become a Dr. phil. from. In 1975, Fussy moved to Vienna , where he worked as an editor for the Austrian Federal Publishing House . From 1987 to 2015 he was primarily responsible for maintaining the Austrian dictionary , the scope of which was doubled under his editorship by the 2012 anniversary edition (60 years of the Austrian dictionary). With a resolution of December 12, 2012, the Federal President awarded him for his longstanding services to adult educationProfessional title of professor awarded.
