Andrew Lockington (born January 31, 1974 in Burlington , Ontario ) is a Canadian composer .

Life

Andrew Lockington was born into a musical family. Since both of his parents started playing the piano at an early age , they taught him and his two sisters to do the same. He tried to compose his own pieces at an early age and played in a school rock band during his high school days, so that after graduating he decided to study instrumentation and composition at Wilfrid Laurier University . He then moved to Toronto, where he worked as a jingle composer for a year .

From 1997 he worked as a film composer, after he started as an assistant to the Canadian film composer Mychael Danna , for films such as Saint Ralph - Miracles are possible , City of Ember - Escape from Darkness and The Journey to the Center of the Earth .

He currently lives in Toronto and Los Angeles with his wife and their three children .
