Herbert Marinkovits

Hebert Marinkovits (born January 14, 1958 in Wimpassing , Lower Austria ) is an Austrian composer and piano musician .

Live and act

Marinkovits who graduated graduation in 1976 at the high school in Neunkirchen . He then studied Japanese studies , English and musicology at the University of Vienna . Marinkovits also completed a degree in instrumental (vocal) pedagogy at the Eisenstadt State Conservatory for the instruments piano and bassoon . He graduated with distinction in 1985. He also completed school music studies with honors at the Graz University of Art in 1995 and has since held the title of Magister of the Arts.

Today Marinkovits is a teacher for music education at the Bundesoberstufenrealgymnasium Kindberg , where he works with Ernst Grieshofer , among others , and at the Bundesrealgymnasium Mürzzuschlag . In addition, he is a teacher for piano, bassoon and keyboard at the Johannes Brahms Music School in Mürzzuschlag.

In Austria Marinkovits is one of the most frequently performed composers of symphonic brass music . He has also won several composers' competitions. His works have also been performed internationally in Germany , Italy , Slovenia , Switzerland , the USA and Japan .

  • 2002: 2nd place at the Prize of the Austrian Brass Music Association (ÖBV)
  • 2003 & 2004: 1st prize of the ÖBV
  • 2004: 1st prize in the composition competition “Year of Water” in Tyrol
  • 2006: 3rd prize in the Gmünd composition competition
