Herbert Neubauer

Herbert Neubauer (born September 2, 1943 in Nuremberg ) is a German table tennis player .

He began his table tennis career with the Sparta Noris Nuremberg association (1956 to 1961). From 1961 to 1970 he played in the Oberliga Süd for Jahn Nürnberg. In 1967 he took 8th place in the national ranking tournament of the DTTB and was ranked 10th in the German ranking that year. In the same year he failed at the German Championships in the quarter-finals in the individual competition to Eberhard Schöler , but took 3rd place in the double competition together with Horst Thein . For Hertha BSC he played in the 1st and 2nd Bundesliga from 1970 to 1977, and for CTTF Bonn from 1977 to 1987 in the 2nd Bundesliga. Herbert Neubauer has been a diplomat at the German diplomatic mission in Geneva since 1987 and has since played in Switzerland for Meyrin CTT in the National League A.

He owes his current fame mainly to his successes as a senior athlete, where he was six times world and five times European champion in his age groups in table tennis.

In addition, he has dedicated himself to the development of very effective, smooth, long pimple rubbers with an extremely high " disruptive effect ". In addition, he is also active in the development of club wood.
