Herbert Noser (born April 10, 1961 in Glarus ) is a Swiss football player .

Career

He was a regular player in the team of FC Glarus, which rose to the first division in 1987 and made it to the second highest division (NLB) a year later. He was in the starting XI of FC Glarus when they defeated FC Basel in the NLB game on August 13, 1988 (1988/89 season) at the St. Jakob (Joggeli) stadium with 1: 2.

On May 24, 2008 , FC Glarus became the Swiss Veteran Champion and the Veteran Cup winner (seniors 40+). Herbert Noser was one of the outstanding players on this team.

As a calm, level-headed defender, Herbert Noser was an extremely important piece of the puzzle in all of these important events. On August 13, 1988, he was on the pitch for 90 minutes in the legendary victory in St. Jakobs-Park, and on May 24, 2008 in the final game of the Swiss Veterans Championship.

When listing the great Glarus players, the names Fritz Künzli , René Botteron , Hans-Peter Briegel and Paul Fischli immediately come up . If you ask who has particularly shaped FC Glarus , Koni Gabriel , Wolfgang Frank or Georg Zug are named. Unfortunately, the name Herbert Noser (simply called "Herbi" by many) is often forgotten. This is certainly due to the nature of the carpenter with his own company (Noser Holzbau AG in Mitlödi). He is reserved; no "Palaferi". This is why all of his fellow players appreciate it; but the audience's attention belonged to other players. He was and is a staunch mustache bearer. This led to the fact that in the run-up to the final game for the veteran Swiss championship title, the teammates planned to shave his mustache off if he won the title. The utensils for this project were included in Kerzers FR (where the final game took place). In the rush of victory this plan was "unfortunately" forgotten.

He only played for one club in his entire career; namely for our FC Glarus. He has never put on another shirt. It is also particularly certain that he only got his first player pass from the Swiss Football Association in 1979 (on December 29, 1979). So only at the age of 19. After that he was part of the first team of FC Glarus for years, which first played in the third division, then in the second division (promotion in the 1981/82 season), followed by the first division (promotion in the 1986/87 season), with the climax when you even belonged to the NLB (now the Challenge League) for four years (promotion 1987/88).
