Herbert Rösch

Herbert Rösch (born June 3, 1943 in Loslau ) is a German local politician and football functional . From 1997 to 2005 he was Lord Mayor of Ostfildern . From 2003 to 2015 he was President of the Württemberg Football Association .

On December 17, 1975, Rösch was elected to the mayor of Ostfildern, Gerhard Koch . As the first mayor with the departments of culture, social affairs and order, he played a key role in the development of the young city of Ostfildern. On March 23, 1997, he won the election as the new Lord Mayor of Ostfildern with 76.07 percent of the votes cast. Rösch was elected the new President of the Württemberg Football Association in July 2003 . In May 2004 he announced that he would not run for a second term as Lord Mayor in the elections in Ostfildern the following year. The then Prime Minister Günther Oettinger presented Rösch with the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon on January 10, 2006 . On June 3, 2013, on the occasion of his 70th birthday, Rösch was granted honorary citizenship of the city of Ostfildern.
