Anders Herman Lundström (born November 28, 1858 in Filipstad , † February 17, 1917 in Uppsala ) was a Swedish Lutheran church historian . He is considered an important representative of modern church history in Sweden.

After graduating from high school in Karlstad in 1877, Lundström began studying at Uppsala University in the same year . There he passed his candidate exam in 1881 . He then studied Protestant theology , took the theological candidate exam in 1888 and was ordained that same year . Lundström was active in church after historical research and was due to a treatise on the Swedish Reformation ( Laurentius Paulinus Gothus , hans lif och verksamhet ) in 1893 to Dr. theol. PhD. Subsequently (1898) he was appointed lecturer and in the same year professor for church history in Uppsala. In addition to his professorship, he was pastor, first in Old Uppsala , then in prebend -Pastorat of Danmark . In 1909 he became provost of the cathedral .

Lundström's scholarly work focused on the edition of sources from Swedish church history, mostly from the 16th century. In 1900 he founded the journal Kyrkohistorisk Årsskrift (Church History Annual). From 1909 he acted as chairman of the general Swedish parish conference. Because he was of the opinion that the Church of Sweden had retained the Apostolic Succession , he encouraged its rapprochement with the Church of England .
