Hermaniwka ( Ukrainian Германівка ; Russian Германовка Germanowka ) is a village in the Ukrainian Oblast of Kiev with about 1,600 inhabitants (2001).
The village, first mentioned in 1096, was called Красне-2 ( Красне ) between 1944 and 1989 and is the only village in the district council of the same name . Hermaniwka located on the Krasna ( Красна ), a 48 km long tributary of the Dnepr in Rajon Obukhiv 18 km southwest of Rajonzentrum Obukhiv and 60 km south of Kiev . Territorial road T – 10–33 runs through the village .
Personalities
- The Ukrainian poet and writer Dniprowa Tschajka (1861–1927) died in Hermaniwka in 1927 .
- In 1922, the Ukrainian literary critic and doctor of philology Leonid Kowalenko ( Леонід Миколайович Коваленко 1922-1983) was born in the village .
