In 1956 the Bundeswehr took over the use. In connection with the closure of the barracks in 1995, the guard battalion was moved to the Brückberg barracks in Siegburg . Today the staff and all companies are stationed in the Julius Leber barracks in Berlin . In 1996, the demolition of the buildings began to make way for the new residential area for 1200 residents.
