Hermann Aldinger (General)

Franz Wilhelm Hermann Aldinger (born July 22, 1907 in Nuremberg ; † November 2, 1993 in Munich ) was a German officer in the Condor Legion and after 1945 a general in the Air Force .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1926, he studied law and political science at the University of Erlangen . He married Carola Spetzler on March 31, 1937 († November 1, 1982). In 1927 he joined the Reichswehr .

In the Condor Legion, the Wehrmacht's expeditionary corps, he fought alongside the fascist Franco troops as first lieutenant and commander of the first heavy flak battery in the Spanish Civil War . Most recently he was a colonel and commander of an anti-aircraft regiment . During the Second World War he was awarded the German Cross in Gold as Flak Leader I. Flieger-Korps on September 24, 1942 .

After the Second World War, Hermann Aldinger studied from 1947 to 1950 at the State Building School in Munich , graduating as a civil engineer . From 1950 to 1952 Aldinger worked as a site manager at the financial construction authority in Munich and then as an employee at the Blank office (forerunner of the Bundeswehr). From 1955 to 1957 Aldinger was a specialist group leader at Telefunken (high frequency engineer).

Aldinger was taken over into the Bundeswehr in 1957 and was there from October 1, 1961 to September 30, 1963 as major general in command of the 1st Air Force Division . General de Maiziere passed his retirement on July 29, 1966; two days earlier, Aldinger had been awarded the Great Cross of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany .
