Hermann Barge

Hermann EG Barge (born June 2, 1870 in Reudnitz ; † 1941 ) was a German teacher and church historian .

Life

He was the son of the teacher Wilhelm Barge, who worked at the Royal Conservatory in Leipzig and was married to Liane born Müller († 1898). After attending the Nikolaigymnasium in Leipzig, he studied at the universities of Leipzig and Berlin. In 1892/92 he was first tutor in Potsdam. During this time he received his doctorate in Dr. phil. In 1894 he passed the state examination and entered the school service, in 1909 he was appointed professor at the secondary school in Leipzig . On October 1, 1922, he moved to Wurzen as rector . In 1931 Hermann Barge went back to Leipzig, where he became director of the Königin-Carola-Gymnasium .

From 1919 to 1920 Hermann Barge was a member of the Saxon People's Chamber for the German Democratic Party .
