Hermann Eichler
Hermann Eichler (* 1839 in Vienna ; † September 17, 1901 there ) was an Austrian portrait , genre and history painter .
Eichler studied from October 18, 1856 at the Royal Academy of Arts in Munich . In 1864 he became a private student of Christian Ruben in Vienna. He spent the period from 1869 to 1874 with a study visit to Rome, later he worked in Munich. In 1892 Eichler returned to Vienna.
Eichler had been a member of the Vienna Künstlerhaus since 1868 . He took part in art exhibitions in Vienna , Prague , Breslau and Berlin in 1866 and later .
Eichler created portraits, historical, landscape and genre pictures. In 1870 he painted the altarpiece “Farewell of the Apostles Peter and Paul” for the Ulrichskirche in Vienna .
