Hermann Erhardt

Hermann Erhardt (born January 9, 1903 in Landshut ; † November 30, 1958 in Vienna ; born Hermann Maier ) was a German actor .

Life

Erhardt played on various provincial theaters since the 1920s and in the 1930s also at the Schlierseer Bauerntheater . During this time he received his first film roles through producer Peter Ostermayr . Preferably in alpine surroundings, Erhardt embodied the typical "established man" as a supporting actor.

In 1939 he got an engagement at the Theater in der Josefstadt in Vienna, where he lived from then on. Until 1954 he was part of the ensemble at the Theater in der Josefstadt . Since then, Erhardt has mainly appeared in Austrian films and has acted in numerous productions as neighbors, colleagues, farmers or people of local respect such as the mayor in Der Förster vom Silberwald . He appeared as Reichsmarschall Hermann Göring in both the American film grotesque The Magic Face and the war film The Last Act . In the Heimatfilm Das Heilige Erbe , also Erhardt's last film, he was the main actor for the only time and played a hunter who had to defend himself against defamation.

His grave is at the Grinzinger Friedhof in Vienna Gr. 21 / row 9 / no. 15. (grave already abandoned)
