Hermann Josef Hubert Carl Fabry (born March 5, 1925 in Bochum ) is a German dermatologist .

Career

Hermann Fabry is the son of Hermann Fabry and nephew of Johannes Fabry .

In 1943 he passed the Abitur at the Gymnasium am Ostring in Bochum. From 1943 to 1948 he studied medicine in Bonn , Frankfurt am Main and Düsseldorf . In 1951 he received his doctorate under Gustav Bodechtel in Düsseldorf. From 1952 to 1955 he worked as an assistant doctor to Albin Proppe at the University Medical Center in Kiel . In 1955 he established himself as a dermatologist in Bochum. In 1957 he took over the management of the Dermatology Clinic in Bochum from his father.

In the years that followed, the dermatology clinic at St. Josef Hospital Bochum was systematically expanded into a supra-regional center for the treatment of skin diseases. In 1975 he brought the skin clinic into the Bochum model , which ensures the clinical training of doctors at the Ruhr University Bochum . The development and expansion of the dermatological research and teaching apparatus followed under his leadership. In 1979 he was made an honorary professor. In 1985 he handed over the management of the dermatology clinic with 44 employees to Peter Altmeyer . Since then he has been working as an expert for the determination of occupational dermatoses.

Fabry is an honorary member of the Hellenic Dermatological Society, an honorary member of the working group of professional dermatologists in the German dermatological society and an honorary member of the MFSH.

In 2012 a bronze image of his head was donated. The work was carried out by Werner Klenk and is now in the lecture hall center of the St. Josef Hospital.
